Silhouette Electronic Cutter

The Silhouette is a digital cutting tool for personal use. It connects to your computer just like a printer, but instead of printing designs it cuts them with a small blade. With the machine connected to your computer, you'll get access to all of the fonts on your PC plus the thousands of cuttable designs. It's a little computer-controlled craft robot with very sharp teeth! Use it to cut out designs for all sorts of things: paper crafts and scrapbooking, vinyl lettering, glass and metal etching, stencils, and anything else that involves precision cutting of small planar materials. There's some pretty neat stuff out there: sticky vinyl, flocked vinyl, magnet sheet, even temporary tattoo paper.

It can *cut fonts already on your computer *Download thousands of designs *Get designs from your favorite companies.

The creative possibilities are endless with the Silhouette. Click on a project type on the menu below for samples of projects you can create. To view projects created by other Silhouette owners, visit the official Silhouette Flickr Group.

You can find some interesting box shapes reminiscent of those found in one of my favorite design books, Structural Package Designs.

"Every day is full of new possibilities - including possibilities for disaster. Isn't it easier to get up in the morning when you know what you're up against?
Park the Sony Dash Personal Internet Viewer on your nightstand and wake up to weather, news, traffic, the newest email in your inbox, your Google calendar, the latest on Twitter and Facebook, and everything else you need to know before you venture into that scary, unpredictable world outside.
But if the Sony Dash was just a shmancy alarm clock, would it be able to play Netflix, YouTube, Hulu, and Amazon On Demand videos? Or run Flickr slideshows? Or stream Pandora radio? Or let you play your own music and video through the USB port?
Waking up with the Sony Dash is just the beginning. Of what it can do, we mean. That it's the beginning of your day kinda goes without saying."
